Julie Carreau is a professor at the mathematics and industrial engineering department of Polytechnique Montréal. Previously, she held a position as a researcher (junior then senior) for 11 years at the Institut de recherche pour le développement in Montpellier, France. In this context, she spent the last two years in Tunis, Tunisia, at the École Supérieure des Communications de Tunis. She completed all her degrees at the Université de Montréal (B.Sc. in pure mathematics, M.Sc. in computational and mathematical finance and Ph.D. in computer science). She had two postdoc fellowships in France  (at Laboratoire des Sciences du Climat et de l’Environnement near Paris and at Inria near Grenoble) before she started her position in Montpellier.
